Study reveals technology turn-off

TWO-THIRDS of people who use hand-held computers find them more of a hindrance than a help, new research has suggested.
The study, by American Express Insurance Services, also reveals that one in seven dreads being contactable around the clock.

The research dashes the stereotype of older people being the most cautious about the digital revolution. The backlash is happening with the iPod generation – those that have grown up with new technology. One in three in the 25-34 age group says technology is intrusive. The over-55s were the most likely to claim technology helped them do their job better, with 37 per cent agreeing. This compared to 22 per cent of under-25s.
